1. Deposit: There is a $50, non-refundable, tax-deductible deposit applied to the total adoption fee at the time of finalization of this contract. Initial: *

2. Adoption Fee: The adoption fee is a tax-deductible donation applied towards the costs incurred by FFCR for the care of the feline. Your adoption fee donation allows FFCR to continue rescuing stray and shelter felines in hopes of finding them a forever family. Initial: *

3. Trial Period: There is a 7-day trial period with all adoptions for the acclimation of the feline to other pets in the home. The adoption fee is refundable (less the $50 non-refundable deposit) if I, the adopter, return the feline in the same condition in which it was adopted and all associated paperwork, including veterinarian records, microchip registration, and rabies tag, within this period. 4. If the animal is returned within the trial period but the paperwork is not returned, an additional $25 will be withheld to reimburse FFCR for the cost of obtaining a new copy from the veterinarian. Initial: *

5. There is no guarantee FFCR will accept a returned feline after the trial period has ended. In addition, any felines returned after the trial period ends are not eligible for a refund of the adoption fee donation. Any returns outside the trial period are subject to foster availability and the feline being current on all vetting. Proof of the feline's vetting will be required prior to FFCR accepting the feline. 6. Health: It is understood FFCR makes every effort to provide an accurate history and assessment of the feline's health and temperament. However, I understand FFCR does not provide a guarantee or warranty on any felines. It is further understood and agreed upon that physical changes, such as declawing, and/or environmental changes may affect the temperament and behavior of the feline. Initial: *

7. Medical: FFCR adopts felines who have received a clean bill of health from our licensed veterinarian partners and is not liable for any medical costs incurred after the date of adoption. Any expenses incurred after the date of adoption are done so at my, the adopter's, expense. Initial: *

8. I am making a commitment to provide a loving, safe home and proper care and medical treatment for the life of the feline. This includes, but is not limited to, annual veterinarian exames, up-to-date vaccinations, proper licensing each year, and adherence to any federal, state, and local laws or ordinances pertaining to the feline. 9. Environment: I agree to provide a feline-friendly, indoor environment. This includes, but is not limited to, keeping the feline indoors and providing appropriate places for the feline to climb, scratch, eat, and use the litter box. It is further understood and agreed upon that FFCR has no liability or responsibility for any injuries and/or damages to persons or property directly or indirectly caused by the feline. Initial: *

10. Personality: Please remember neither FFCR nor its volunteers guarantee the feline's personality. I acknowledge it takes several months for a feline's personality to develop. The environment provided is a factor in the development of a feline's personality and environments not conducive to felines may result in behavioral issues not present while in the care of FFCR. In such instances, I, the adopter, am responsible for making necessary adjustments and seeking professional veterinarian care and advice. FFCR does not accept a change in personality as an acceptable reason to return a feline. Initial: *

I acknowledge this agreement is binding between myself and Feline Fanciers Cat Rescue, also abbreviated as FFCR, and any misrepresentations or violations may result in the removal of the adopted feline from my possession.
